Preventions of Uremia Induced by IgA Nephropathy
Uremia is the end stage of IgA Nephropathy. Due to neglect on preventions, many patients with IgA Nephropathy progress into uremia gradually, therefore, anyone who is suffering IgA Nephropathy should pay attention to the following inducements which may cause uremia to occur.
1. Cold.
On one hand, patients should prevent the appearance of cold. They can take some exercise, change clothes according to weather variations and avoid appear in public places during flu period. On the other hand, if patients catch a cold accidentally, they should timely visit doctors so as to prevent renal function from damaging.
2. Infection.
Uremia patients are commonly found some infections, such as respiratory infection, digestive tract infection and urinary tract infection etc. Chinese medicine is suggested as the first choice in treating these infections for it has no side effects. If patients are prone to use antibiotics, they should pay attention to its dosage. At the same time, renal toxic drugs should be banned.
3. Obstruction of the urethra.
Urethral calculus or tumor and BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) can aggravate renal function decline, thus induces uremia. Thus patients should accept treatment, as soon as they find any symptoms of obstruction of the urethra.
4. Renal toxic drugs.
As it has been mentioned above, the dosage of antibiotics which may damage renal function should be under the direction of doctors. The common renal toxic drugs are mainly aminoglycoside antibiotics, such as gentamicin, kanamycin, streptomycin etc. besides, both analgesic-antipyretic drugs and contrast agents belong to renal toxic drugs.
Only all above inducements can be avoided successfully, can patients have opportunities to prevent IgA Nephropathy from uremia. In many patients’ minds, uremia is invitation from death. However, as long as they are treated in right ways and accompanied with careful measures, they also can reduce the renal damage to minimum and live a better life.
Then, how to stop IgA Nephropathy progressing into uremia by treatments?
In fact, the progress from IgA Nephropathy to uremia is a total process of renal fibrosis. To avoid uremia, we should start from the block of this process. Patients should choose the treatment which focuses on blocking renal fibrosis and repairing damaged renal tissue, thus repair renal function. With renal function improving, IgA Nephropathy will slow its steps into uremia.
